    To Market to Market

    To Market to Market

To market to market to buy a fresh [insert here the seasons best produce].   Do you love buying direct from the grower or artisan who crafted your goods? Well in the Tumbarumba locale we have some wonderful produce grown by charming people and creatives who make allsorts of giftware and useful items.

Conveniently for you and I, these growers and makers gather their wares and make up our 'Local Produce & Handmade Market' on the lawns of Nest every third Saturday of the month from 9am - 12noon.

Since 2010 when it began, we've seen seasons and produce change and delight in welcoming new stall holders all the time.  According to the seasons and inspirations you can find fresh vegetables(Mark is pictured with his harvest in Feb 2011), berries, fruit, chestnuts, eggs, jams, relishes, sauces, herbs, plants and seedlings, jewellery, metal art, wooden toys & furniture, baby clothes & accessories, handmade clothes, pre-loved books, essential oils & candles, massage, honey, handmade stationery, vintage wares, goats milk soaps... goodness!

Without the individuals in the community and travellers who come, browse, buy and chat  with our producers, there of course wouldn't be a market; so thank you if this is you and we invite you and everyone to keep coming and supporting our local growers.

If you make or grow anything (don't be shy now) and are interested in a stall give Laura a call on 6948 2950.

    Upcoming Markets:

    9am - 12noon on the Nest lawns

    Saturday 16 February

    Saturday 16 March

    Saturday 19 April

    Food Love

    Food Love

The way we see food is a little different.

While our cuisine is built on principles of simplicity and local produce, the combination of our wait staff, location and small-town charm make for one heck of a dining experience. Our well-loved favorites are often accompanied by carefully crafted, one of a kind menu items that take advantage of seasonal produce available locally.

And while we love food as a stand-alone entity, what we love even more is what it represents. From its ability to lend energy to effectively sustain life (so deep, I know) to its knack for bringing people together, food is so deeply engrained in our day-to-day lives that we often take it for granted.

So, whenever your next meal beckons you, be it a lowly salad sandwich or feast fit for a prime minister, we encourage you to show a little respect to your food in any way you see fit, even if it be a simple acknowledgement of the importance it holds in your life.

Better yet, come in and celebrate with us, we’d love to see you.

    Bye for now
    Laura and the Nest team
