THE MOVIES
28 September - 4 October THE MEG (M) - For the Teenagers
A deep-sea submersible--part of an international undersea observation program--has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific... with its crew trapped inside. With time running out, expert deep sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing), to save the crew--and the ocean itself--from this unstoppable threat: a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon. What no one could have imagined is that, years before, Taylor had encountered this same terrifying creature. Now, teamed with Suyin, he must confront his fears and risk his own life to save everyone trapped below
5-11 October MAYA THE HONEYBEE: THE HONEY GAMES (G) - For the Little Ones
When an overenthusiastic Maya accidentally embarrasses the Empress of Buzztropolis, she is forced to unite with a team of misfit bugs and compete in the Honey Games for a chance to save her hive.
THE PICNIC
Live Music Spring Weekend at Nest 22-23 September: Cookie Baker Live on Stage Saturday night + King River Rising 6 piece groove band Sunday afternoon
Contemporary folk singer/songwriter COOKIE BAKER comes to Nest at her most personal, personable and intimate best, previewing material from her upcoming album.
Cookie Baker is a pint-sized melodic force to be reckoned with. A walking, talking exercise in compact contradiction and adaptation. As gutsy in person as she is empathetic on stage, as careful with her picked guitar as she is unapologetic with her incisive words, as warm in her interactions as she is unafraid of bringing airtime to the hard stuff.

OFFICIAL SELECTION – 2017 CANNES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL – DIRECTORS’ FORTNIGHT
OPENING NIGHT GALA – 2017 ODESSA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The breakout French hit of the 2017 Cannes International Film Festival, where it premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight to multiple, raucous standing ovations, writer/director Carine Tardieu’s charming romantic comedy JUST TO BE SURE is a winning tale of parenthood, love and family, both lost and found.
“The comedy favourite of Cannes. Invigorating and intelligent.”
Pierre Vavasseur, LE PARISIEN
Ophelia Daguin, ELLE MAGAZINE
Erwan, an unshakeable mine-clearing expert, suddenly loses his footing when he learns that his father is not his father. Despite all the tenderness he feels for the man who raised him, Erwan discreetly sets out to learn more about and to find his father. He turns out to be an elderly and very endearing man named Joseph, who Erwan becomes fond of. As good things come in pairs, Erwan crosses paths with the elusive Anna, who he undertakes to seduce. But one day when he pays Joseph a visit, Erwan realizes that Anna is in fact his half-sister. This bomb is even harder to defuse because his adoptive father now suspects that Erwan is hiding something from him.
