    Frank Burkitt Band touring from NZ

    Port Fairy, Melbourne, Tumbarumba, Canberra, Blue Mountains

    The Frank Burkitt Band come to the Cinema stage of Cafe Nest, Tumbarumba as part of their limited stop Album Release Tour of Australia and NZ this month.

    Starting at the famous Port Fairy Folk Festival in March, the string Band inspired by jazz, blues, folk, swing soul and all things American Roots are to play just 6 Australian venues in Melbourne, Tumbarumba, Canberra and finishing at the Blue Mountains Music Festival.

    Frank is a story teller, songwriter, singer and guitarist. In that order. His rambling anecdotes aim to give the audience more of a connection with his songs. After years performing solo, he formed his incredible backing band when he relocated to Wellington from Edinburgh.

    Frank Burkitt Band will play on Wednesday 14 March 7:30pm.

    The Frank Burkitt Band play original music inspired by jazz, blues, folk, swing, soul and all things American Roots. A string band that have become popular throughout New Zealand thanks to their entertaining performances, strong musicianship and fantastic song-writing.  

    The band have made incredible progress in the last 3 years, releasing their debut album Fools & Kings in 2015, which reached No.12 in the Official NZ Music Charts. They have embarked on several national tours and have played several festivals across NZ. Inspired by artists such as Pokey Lafarge, Van Morrison, Billy Joel and The Wood Brothers, they play high energy, original music written by Burkitt and arranged by the band. They are releasing their 2nd album Raconteur on 9 March 2018 before embarking on a release tour of Australia and New Zealand.
